Day 2 - Video 1
Did you meditate since the last class
No. Skip to the video below
Yes
Which statement is more accurate
I mostly accepted what happened in my meditation. Great
It felt like it wasn’t working, so I think something was off. This is hard to grasp, but it doesn’t matter that if felt like a waste of time. The goal is to accept that. Hopefully over the next few days you will learn to be somewhat more accepting of whatever happens. It’s like letting your dog off the leash at the dog run. It doesn’t matter where he goes, just that he’s off the leash
Watch the video and then answer the questions below it.
Except for any moments you brought your attention back to your head, did you feel like you were controlling your mind, or were you letting it do what it did?
Letting it do what it did. Good job. It doesn’t matter what it did, just that you let it.
I was controlling it
Were you trying to control it
No Good. You weren’t trying. As long as you aren’t trying, you’re good.
Yes It can take a while to grasp, but in this type of meditation, it doesn’t matter what you experience during your meditation. What’s important is you react to what you experience. Even if your meditation is tense or your mind is all over the place, your only job is to accept that, not to fix it.
